Glove boxes are sealed enclosures for handling certain hazardous materials. Built into the sides of the glove box are gloves designed in such a way that the user can place their hands into the gloves and perform tasks inside the box without breaking containment. This provides more protection than the enclosed fume hood mentioned next.
Stat-X fire suppression systems protect glove boxes. Our in-cabinet system will detect and suppress the fire shortly after it starts while it is still relatively small, before is consumes the glove box, and requires extinguishment by the building’s sprinkler system.
