We are honored to be recognized by Governor Tim Walz as a recipient of a Governor’s International Trade Award in the category of manufactured products. Fireaway Inc. was one of five Minnesota companies that received a 2018 Governor’s International Trade Award on, Thursday, November 7, for building successful global markets in 2018.
The Governor’s International Trade Award honors Minnesota companies that have shown exceptional progress and success in foreign markets. In addition to honoring individual recipients, the award recognizes the tremendous positive effect that exports and trade have on the state’s overall economy.
The companies were selected for developing and continuing to grow a significant part of their business in foreign markets, increasing or maintaining jobs in Minnesota, and developing novel approaches for competing globally.
“We are pleased to recognize the outstanding achievement of these Minnesota based companies and the positive economic impact that foreign direct investment and exporting companies both large and small are making in communities throughout the state” said Governor Tim Walz. “Each of the Governor’s International Trade Award winners represent more than business success – they represent making the world a better place.”
Governor Walz and Commissioner Steve Grove, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development presented the awards at a ceremony in Minneapolis.

Lance D. Harry, President and CEO, of Fireaway Inc. received the award and explained the company’s mission is to save property and lives in industrial special hazard applications. The
Stat-X® condensed aerosol fire suppression product is used globally. The international market has provided many of our growth opportunities and recent successes which includes
protecting wind turbines, energy storage systems (ESS and BESS), as well as
school buses.
