NFPA 2010 Edition 2015 becomes effective today

Dec 01, 2014

NFPA 2010 Edition 2015 Standard for Fixed Aerosol Fire-Extinguishing Systems became effective today superseding former Edition 2010.  This is the second revision cycle of this standard, the original first published in 2006. This edition was also approved as an American National Standard same day.

The main change is that the visual inspection period is now bi-annual, replacing the monthly inspection requirement.  Also Outline UL 2775 is now Standard UL 2775.  Other editorial changes were made in line with changes to other fire suppression standards such as NFPA 2001.  Another change is that examination of leakage areas or integrity testing of enclosures (for example with door fan test) has been clarified.

List price of the NFPA 2010 standard is $44.50.

Next revision cycle will be Fall 2019 and next edition will be 2010.

We hope to see you at the NFPA Conference & Expo in Chicago, June 22-25, 2015.
